The Law that Governs

What does Paul say regarding sowing and reaping?

“Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” Galatians 6:7. 

How does Christ express a similar law?

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will be poured into your lap. For the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” Luke 6: 37,38.

The Law Applied to the Wicked

How does the psalmist apply the law to the wicked?

“He loved to pronounce a curse – may it come on him; he found no pleasure in blessing – may it be far from him.” Psalm 109:17. 

According to what was judgment called upon Babylon?

“Summon archers against Babylon, all those who draw the bow. Encamp all around her; let no one escape. Repay her for her deeds; do to her as she has done. For she has defiled the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.” Jeremiah 50:29.

Why did Christ tell Peter to put up the sword?

“Put your sword back into its place,” Jesus said to him, “For all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” Matthew 26:52.  

Why was the power represented by the beast to go into captivity?

“If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity he will go, if anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword he will be killed.“ This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of the saints.” Revelation 13:10.

The Rule Works for the Righteous

On what condition does Christ say God will forgive us? 

“For if you forgive men what they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Matthew 6:14,15. (See also Matthew 18:23-25.)
