Things To
Consider
Here’s
why the living have to go through the Great
Tribulation:
1.
God will separate the sheep from the goats. Not
on the basis of His foreknowdge of individual
human beings, but on the basis of choice. God
does not judge people on the basis of what He
knows about them! He judges us on the basis of
what we do with what we know.
Revelation
3:10 Since you have kept my command
to endure patiently, I will also keep you from
the hour of trial that is going to come upon the
whole world to test those who live on the
earth.
2.
To exult the name of Jesus. Jesus is grossly
distorted and misunderstood throughout the world.
The establishment of His kingdom will be declared
and all who love truth will “join.”
Matthew
24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be
preached in the whole world as a testimony to all
nations, and then the end will come.
3.
God’s biggest problem isn’t the
presence of sin. His biggest problem is
preventing a second rise of sin. Therefore, God
has designed the Great Tribulation as a series of
Great Revelations…. First, there will be a
revelation of who Jesus really is (a topic of
enormous importance) and there will be a
revelation of what the curse of sin does to
people (this will be displayed through the evil
behavior of people within religious systems in
days ahead). In other words, the wicked will do
the same things even though their religions are
different! This will prove to be a cosmic study
that will endure forever.
There
will be many martyrs during the Great Tribulation
“because of the Word of God and the
testimony they maintain.” (See Revelation 6)
God
rewards this martyrdom. (“Blessed are they
who die in the Lord from now on…) See
Revelation 14
The
fruit of this oncoming martyrdom will parallel
the fruit produced by martyrdom in the past….
Remember Stephen, Paul, the disciples, etc. The
blood of martyrs fertilizes the gospel.
When
innocent people lay down their lives rather than
yield to a moral compromise, no greater testimony
for value and importance of truth can be given.
On the
other hand, when people strap bombs on themselves
to kill innocent and unsuspecting people, this
isn’t martyrdom… It’s
suicide/murder.
