Spiritual Classics
Companion to Renovare Spiritual Formation Bible
Introducing the Reader to
Loyolas Spiritual Exercises
The Renovare Spiritual Formation
Bible suggests as a way to Use this Bible
for Spiritual Formation to read the
Renovare Resource for Spiritual Renewal titled Spiritual
Classics, which focuses on the disciplines
listed in Celebration of Discipline from the
perspective of classical devotional
writers. (p. 2325). On page 291 of
Spiritual Classics begins a chapter by Ignatius
Loyola on Rules for Discernment of
Spirits, taken out of Loyolas Spiritual
Exercises. The introduction to this
chapter reads:
Ignatius Loyola is one of
the most influential religious founders in
Christian history. The religious order that he
founded continues to have worldwide influence and
is especially known for its work in education and
spiritual formation. Spiritual
Classics: Selected Readings for Individual
and Groups on the Twelve Spiritual Disciplines,
ed. Richard J. Foster, and Emile Griffin. A
Renovare Resource for Spiritual Renewal.
Foster thinks
Loyola is the Very Best
Near the end of this chapter by
Ignatius Loyola in Spiritual Classics
Richard Foster, the founder of Renovare, and
chief editor of the Renovare Spiritual Formation
Bible, writes glowingly of Loyola: Of
all the literature on the discernment of spirits
I think Ignatius of Loyola is the very best. He
is so wise, so clear, and so direct
.
Whatever and whenever Ignatiuss experiences
we can be deeply grateful for the help these
rules for the discernment of spirits
can give us as we seek to distinguish the
movement of God upon the soul from that of Satan
and his minions. Richard Foster, commenting
on Ignatius Loyolas Spiritual Exercises,
Spiritual Classics, 298.
Thus, the head of the Renovare
movement, which has succeeded in getting all the
known Protestant denominations to adopt Spiritual
Formation and Spiritual Directors, from
Adventists to Mennonites, from Presbyterians to
the Salvation Army, is a most enthusiastic
advocate of Ignatius Loyola.
At the end of the Renovare
Spiritual Formation Bible is the Spiritual
Formation Bibliography, which includes the entry:
Loyola, Ignatius. The
Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Edited
by John F. Thornton. Translated by Louis J. Puhl.
New York: Random House, Vintage, 2000. P.
2322.
Romes Plan: Run the
Separated Brethren As Subsidiary
Organizations
Let Protestants
Keep Their Names and Organizations
Romes openly stated plan is
to let all the Protestant denominations keep
their names and their structures, and to run
those structures as subsidiary organizations to
Rome.
The Jesuit Rahner writes that it
can be assumed that the Protestants have
lost their church-dividing character and can
become a reconciled diversity
as a result of
the insight that they are various forms of
expression within a communality. They
have lost their anti character
and gained a positive independence. Karl
Rahner, S.J. & Heinrich Fries, Unity of the
Churches: An Actual Possibility. New York:
Paulist Press, 1985, 108. [P. 43 on keeping
structures; P. 59 on subsidiary.]
In other words, you have, for
example, the Presbyterian tradition and the
Adventist tradition. Thus Adventism is viewed as
just one form of expression within a
communality. The Structure has lost its
anti character. Therefore, the papal
representative can receive a standing ovation at
the General Conference session.
Congregations
in Submission to Hierarchy; Hierarchy in
Submission to Rome
To accomplish this objective it is
necessary that all the respective congregations
and laity be in absolute submission to their
respective Protestant hierarchies, which in turn
are in submission to Rome. To educate for deeper
submission, teach and apply Spiritual Formation.
Forming the
Image of the Roman Hierarchy
Renovare and Spiritual Directors
International with their Spiritual Formation
movement throughout all denominations and
religions, has seized upon the thirst for
spirituality as the avenue to integrate and
infuse Roman formation throughout Christianity
and the non-Christian religions, forming them all
in the image of the Roman hierarchy.
Top Jesuit
Rahner Spells It Out
In 1985, the top Jesuit of the
Twentieth century, Karl, Rahner, authored a book
with Roman Catholic theologian Heinrich Fries, in
which he wrote:
However, even if one
recognizes a significant difference in parish
life between Catholic and Protestant
congregations, with respect to ecclesiastical
leadership the average congregation in the
Protestant churches in fact usually
practices the kind of obedience to their church
leaders that is customary in the Roman Catholic
church. Therefore, one should
not overestimate the danger of a rebellion
at the grass roots [CC note: read
Independent Ministries] against their
ecclesiastical leaders decisions regarding
unification. On the basis of their theological
expertise and their religious conscience, the representatives
of this ecclesiastical leadership can decide in
favor of church unity, and can also work with
sufficient zeal among the church members to gain
their understanding for this decision. As
always the presupposition is, of course, that
ones conscience comprehends this unity as a
truly binding commandment of Christ and that one
is prepared to dare something, the good results
of which cannot be foreseen with absolute
certainty. Heinrich Fries and Karl
Rahner, S.J., p. 54.
Therefore, in 1985 the top
intellectual Jesuit in the world knew that the
church laity of the Protestant churches was just
as submissive to their hierarchies as were Roman
Catholic laity to their hierarchy. All that
remained was for the respective hierarchies to
decide in favor of church unity, and work with
sufficient zeal among the church members to gain
their understanding and conscience for such a
decision.
Fastening the Chains of Submission
With Spiritual Formation, Guide With Spiritual
Directors
To make absolutely certain that
the respective hierarchical structures of the
respective Protestant denominations remain in
submission to their Roman Catholic superiors and
that each level of their hierarchies is in
submission to their superiors, spiritual
formation and spiritual directors have been
implemented across the board, from the Southern
Baptist Convention, the largest
Protestant denomination in the United
States, to the Methodists, the Episcopalians, the
Presbyterians, the Mennonites, and the
Seventh-day Adventist Structure.
Thus to completely take over all
of the Protestant denominations and accomplish
the submission within the hierarchies, spiritual
formation is implemented, the very spiritual
formation used over 450 years in the Jesuit order
to establish cadaver obedience of each Jesuit to
his superior.
Stunning
Fulfillment of Prophecy
This
implementation of spiritual formation and
spiritual directors throughout Protestantism,
including Seventh-day Adventism, is a most
stunning fulfillment of the prophecy:
The Roman
Church is far-reaching in her plans and modes of
operation. She is employing every device to
extend her influence and increase her power in
preparation for a fierce and determined conflict
to regain control of the world [CC Note: She is
gaining control of the world through control of
America, particularly the Roman Catholic
intelligence agencies and the neo-conservative
vision of imperial pax Americana], to
re-establish persecution [CC note: witness the
revival of torture and secret detention camps run
by the CIA around the world], and to undo all
that Protestantism has done [CC note: Now
particularly through Jesuit Spiritual Formation
and Spiritual Directors]. GC 565, 566.
Former President Jimmy Carter
Reveals the Shocking Picture of the Southern
Baptist Conventions Substitution of Church
Leaders for Christ
Jimmy Cater Warns Southern
Baptists Have Substituted Church Leaders for
Christ With a Ferocity That Exceeds Roman
Catholicism
Former President Jimmy Carter has
revealed his anguish at what is happening in his
church, the Southern Baptist Convention. A
major and perhaps permanent schism occurred at
the annual Southern Baptist Convention in 2000,
when a new Baptist Faith and Message
statement was adopted. Of preeminent concern to
many Baptists was the deletion of the
previously stated premise that the sole
authority for faith and practice among Baptists
is Jesus Christ, whose will is revealed in the
Holy Scriptures. In effect, this change
meant substitution of Southern Baptist leaders
for Jesus as the interpreters of biblical
Scripture. Although there were solemn pledges
that acceptance of this new statement would be
voluntary, it soon became obvious that it would
be imposed as a mandatory creed on all
convention officers, employees, deans and
professors of colleges and seminaries, and even
missionaries who were serving in foreign
countries. The strictness of this mandatory
compliance has exceeded that in the Roman
Catholic Church or in other Protestant
denominations. Former President Jimmy
Carter, Our Endangered Values: Americas
Moral Crisis. New York: Simon & Schuster,
2005, pp. 41, 42. (emphasis mine).
No Other Name
One of the most fundamental truths
taught in the gospels is that salvation does
not come through ecclesiastical hierarchies. Salvation
comes through the person of Jesus Christ alone.
Neither is there salvation in any other:
for there is none other name under heaven, given
among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts
4:12.
When I read that verse as a
teenager, sitting in a classroom, as I was
reading my Bible to myself, I was stunned. It was
a great heavenly light that burst upon my senses.
It is the great truth that we need today, as all
ecclesiastical structures are taken over by the
Jesuits with Spiritual Directors and Spiritual
Formation.
Supplementing
the Authority of God With That of the Church
The Lord has warned us that the
very first step in apostasy is to supplement the
authority of the Church to the authority of the
Word: The very beginning of the great
apostasy was in seeking to supplement the
authority of God by that of the church. Rome
began by enjoining what God had not forbidden,
and she ended by forbidding what He had
explicitly enjoined. GC 289, 290.
Renovares Human, Mediated
Side
A supplement is
something that is added. The great apostasy
began by adding the
authority of the Church to the authority of God. That
is why the Renovare Spiritual Formation Bible is
a Bible leading the churches into deeper apostasy
by saying that there must be human mediation: there
must be a human, or mediated,
side to Gods relationship to us.
Renovare Spiritual Formation
Bible, p. 4. This human, mediated side is
viewed as variously the family, the nation, and
the church, by this Renovare Spiritual
Formation Bible. This bible is educating
Protestantism to accept the human mediation of
ecclesiastical structures in the image of the
Roman hierarchy.
